Adam's London Marathon 2006

My name's Adam Harwood, I'm 21 years old and never considered myself as a long distance runner until 2 years ago, when I was asked by a friend to take part in the London Half Marathon, which I have now done twice. Last year I also took part in the Leatherhead Fire Station 10k run, and I plan to do both the Liverpool Half Marathon on March 19th, and the Kingston Half Marathon on April 2nd as preparation for the full marathon. My dad's run the Full Marathon four times (including last year), and I thought that if he could run 26 miles at his age, I should be able to do it at mine!

I was a part of a team that visited Kenya in April 2004, and spent a lot of time at Rianna's orphanage, which at the time was still in the construction stages. Its wonderful to see the pictures of how the orphanage has progressed since then, and all of the team who went out 2 years ago would love to go again. I'm so grateful to have had the chance to go to Kenya and
to run this years marathon, and I couldn't think of a better charity than Rianna's fund to support.

I hope that the generosity of people for my run and other fundraising events can fulfil the visions that the fund has laid out.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Rianna's Fund will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor me now and send me an e-mail to let me know that you've done it!

Many thanks for your support.
