Christina Taylor is running the London Marathon
on the 13th of April 2008

This is why...

One life, many changes

I have lived in Ashtead with my husband and family for 12 years now. We have four children Lydia, Miriam, Suzi and Joseph now in their teens and twenties. Joseph was in the same peer groups as Olivia and Rianna at church and also at school. We attend St George’s church in Ashtead alongside Steve and Debbie and family. I work part time as a midwife at a local hospital.

I count it a privilege to run for Rianna’s Fund and in so doing hope to honour the courage shown by Steve and Debbie and their girls, and of course to honour Rianna’s life and memory, to benefit children in Kenya  at the Rianna Furaha [Joy] Children’s Home.

I find the Rianna’s Fund logo – one life many changes, challenging and personally inspiring, particularly as intended, with reference to the opportunities open to us and through us for others, when we allow God to walk [and run!] with us in life.

Choose Life

Peter Clark was a man known in many countries for his professional and intellectual capabilities. He was equally widely known for his integrity and faith in a God who requires that we…act justly, love mercy and walk humbly…with Him .[Micah 6 8 ]

Our family were privileged to know Peter as husband to Lynda, Dad to Rachel, Dan and Ben [ the latter of whose birth Christina attended in her professional capacity as midwife!] and as a friend, from whose understanding of God’s love and justice, we benefited greatly.

It will be an honour to run in the London Marathon 2008 in Peter’s memory to support the work of his memorial Trust in giving children in a continent that Peter loved so much – Africa, the opportunity that every child should be given – to choose life!
