Rianna’s Furaha Childrens Home

Rianna's Furaha Children's Home

Rianna’s Furaha Childrens Home has been open since October 2005. The home is situated in Yala, Kenya which is aprox. 60km north of Kisumu, nr Lake Victoria.

There are currently 42 children living at the Home, 20 boys and 22 girls. They range in age from the youngest, Cedric who is 3 and a half years old to the oldest, James who is 11 years.

Fourteen of the children staying at the Home attend the local Yala Township Primary School The school is a few minutes walk from the Home and caters for around 1,100 pupils. The younger children staying at Rianna’s go to a small Nursery School on the same site as the Children's Home.

In November 2006 there was an official opening of the Childrens Home and over 500 people attended the event, almost half of these being children from local schools, scouts and other children's organisations.

The children are really well looked after by a team of 14 staff including Eunice Aweyo the Project Director and Edward Wata the Project Manager. The children have a good diet and are very well cared for by all the staff at the Home.

It currently costs around £25 per month to cover the cost of the children staying in the Home and in addition to this Rianna’s Fund also supports all the children's education costs. If you are interested in becoming a regular supporter of Rianna’s Fund please see the ‘sponsorship’ page.
