Kevin Okoth 

Age 21

Started on the education program in secondary school – his father died and both Kevin and his brother Ben went into the education program. Kevin then went on to study Paper technology at university and is now in his third year. He wants to study for a masters degree (maybe outside Kenya).

Jadida Onyango

 Age 20

 In Education Program – 3 years

Studied in Kisumu at The New Nyanza General Hospital. Qualified in May 2005 as a nurse and is currently looking for work. 

Both Jadida’s parents died and she was staying with her elder sister who died last year. She now lives with her younger sister who married young to provide security for herself.

Stacey Agola

 Age 16

Stacey has been on the program since she was 8. She is currently in Form 3 at Sinaga Girl’s School. Stacey loves to sing and dance and is also a good cook. Her father died when she was young. Stacey wants to be a journalist.

Tru Fosa Aneyango

 Age 21

Tru Fosa has been on Program since secondary school.

Tru Fosa’s brother brought her to the program because hey have no parents.

She is in her second year of teacher training college and will qualify at the end of September as a primary school teacher.

 

Fred Ochieng’

Age 22

Fred has been supported in his education since 2003.

Fred’s father was a teacher until he went blind – his mother cannot find work.

Fred finishes his nursing qualification next year.

Miriam Omondi

 Age 12

Miriam has been with the program for 3 years. She is in boarding school at the moment and ultimately wants to be a teacher.

Gregory Oneyango

 Age 19

Gregory was forced to leave school at the age of 13. He came to the program for help to get back to school and last year he got his wish. He is very bright and wants to be a doctor.
